HawkShot Link Previewer Wordpress PluginThis plugin goes through your post looking for links and then adds this preview feature to the link. You can see an example of this at work on our portfolio. Basically this is a just a popup div (not window) for each link and it trys to display the link. There isn’t alot of features to it, I will see if it gains popularity. |
Install
- Download Hawkshot.zip (Requires Login) and unzip them into wp-content/plugins folder.
- Activate the plugin in wordpress backend
- Browse to a wordpress page you have links in, and watch it at work.
alternatively
- Go to HawkShots Source and copy the code
- Paste into your code wherever and modify.
Who would use this?
I think it’s great for portfolio or link directories. Basically anyone that would want to display a link before going through. This is different then the Snapshot plugin as it doesn’t use another site to generate images it’s all right there.

Nice script, I can see some interesting uses for this.
However it is a large script, does the entire YUI folder need to be included/used or can I slim it down some?

The yui folder was actually just for fun, it creates the tab structure for me. You can easily rip out the yui folder, you will just need to do tell it to print it to the page instead.
If enough people bug me I might make a light version
